In the competitive business of club baseball he has seen 400+ Players move on to college ranks and a large number have gone on to be drafted by Professional Teams.
Most recently Benny was on the Long Beach St Coaching staff for the 2019-2020 prior to that he has previous college coaching experience at his alma mater, Loyola Marymount, Cal St Fullerton, San Diego State and Cal State Los Angeles.
Bonilla was a left-handed pitcher at LMU from 1997-2000, where he set the single-season winning percentage record on the mound by going 9-1 as a senior. Left the school #2 in Career Victories. He signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks after college and spent two years in the organization.
He began his coaching career as an associate head coach at Carlsbad High School, and moved to the college ranks as LMU’s pitching coach in 2007.
After graduation, Ryan went to UC Davis and played four years there, primarily as a pitcher.
In 2000, he was awarded the UC Davis Student Athlete Outstanding Senior Award.
He received his B.A. there and followed that up with a Master’s degree in Sports and Fitness Management at the University of San Francisco.
In 2003, Ryan began his coaching and teaching careers at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, CA.
That summer, he coached with the Santa Barbara Foresters on their run to a national championship.
While at Cuesta, Ryan contributed to 3 Western State Conference Conference Championships and Super Regional appearances.
In 2008, he moved on to take the head coaching position at Scripps Ranch High School in San Diego, CA.
In 2010, Ryan won the league Coach of the Year honors as Scripps won its first league title and CIF tournament game in the school’s history and had 3 players drafted.
That success resulted in an offer and acceptance to take the head job at Santa Barbara City College in 2011, netting him a promotion and an opportunity to return home.
In his only season there, he directed the SBCC team to the school’s first playoff win and super regional appearance in its history and he again was named Coach of the Year.
From late 2011 to 2014, Ryan worked in Major League Baseball as an Area Scouting Supervisor for the Cleveland Indians drafting 10 in just two years in Southern California .
In addition to being the VP of TB SoCal since 2016 he continues to work for SportsForce Baseball Advising helping assist 120 players into four year programs from across the nation.

Teams were CIF champs in 2001 at Edison and 2007 at Vista Murrieta (Assistant Coach).

Married to Carrie and we just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. We have 3 kids, Nick is a senior at UCLA, Andrew is in his second year at Oregon(Played for TB SoCal) and Madison is in 7th grade.
Been coaching for over 20 years. Been a high school head coach, college head coach, college assistant and a coach in travel ball. Was asst coach at Chapman University for 2 years and asst coach at OCC for 7 years. Was head coach at Orange Lutheran HS for 3 years. Went on to be head coach at Concordia University for 7 years. Went to NAIA World Series twice. Won the National Championship in 2011 and was named the 2011 National Coach of the Year. Was head coach in the Alaska Collegiate Summer League in 2014 and 2015 and won the championship both summers.

Coach Kurt Ruth has coached over 30 years of high school baseball and is currently the Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach at Elsinore High School. He has had stints as a Head Varsity Baseball Coach at South HS (Torrance) [95′-’98], Carson HS [’01-’03], and Vista Murrieta HS [’11 & ’12]. In those 9 years, his teams finished a combined [164-102] (.617), which included 3 League Titles and a CIF Championship Game appearance (Carson ’03). For his efforts, Coach Ruth has been recognized as a 2-time baseball “Coach of the Year” through local media outlets. He has also had stints as an Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach at Gahr HS (Cerritos), Vista Murrieta HS, and in his current position at Elsinore HS. As an assistant, his teams have won numerous league championships and a CIF Championship (Vista Murrieta ’07).
In addition to coaching baseball, Ruth has also served as a Head Boys Varsity Basketball Coach (9 seasons), a Head Girls Varsity Basketball Coach (4 seasons), an assistant football coach, and an assistant Girls Volleyball. In total, Coach Ruth has in some capacity coached 69 seasons of high school athletics throughout his career and has had many of the athletes he has coached advance to the collegiate and professional levels.
On a personal note, Kurt has been married to his wife, Cyndi, for over 27 years, and they have 4 children – Brent, Aaron, Lindsey, and D.C. (a current member of the TB SoCal Organization).
